4 ways to prevent pregnancy without birth control pills or condoms
By DEREK CLONTZ

If you think using a condom or birth control pills to avoid unwanted pregnancies
is a pain in the butt, consider some of the bizarre strategies our
ancestors relied on to keep the stork at bay.
According to historians at the internationally recognized Institute of
Sex Studies, in Frankfurt, Germany:
1. In ancient Egypt, women who didn't want to get pregnant
stuffed crocodile poop "you know where" before a roll in the
hay and kept it there for a full day afterwards.
2. In ancient China, women ate small amounts of brain-damaging and
potentially lethal mercury and lead before they "did the nasty."
3. In ancient India, women douched with -- and drank -- monkey
urine after intimate relations. If "monkey water" was in short supply,
chimp whiz was considered almost as good.
4. As late as 1910 in rural France, women were convinced that having
sex with a blood relative immediately after having relations with a lover was
good insurance against a surprise child.
